Volunteering

Holton Lee is centre of wellbeing on a 350 acre estate in a unique, secluded corner of Dorset. We aim to provide better opportunities for all to flourish through the arts, horticulture and the environment. All the facilities at Holton Lee have been designed and built to ensure that they are accessible to everyone.
We rely on volunteers to make Holton Lee the outstanding setting that it is. It can be an extremely rewarding experience for everyone involved and help individuals to develop new skills, meet new people and help out where it is really needed.
Our Ashtree Cottage Garden project is a growing initiative that allows us to help local people to grow their own food.

The Garden has recently increased in size and offers opportunities for volunteers to get involved in basic gardening tasks & maintenance, making jams and chutneys from surplus crops and working with individuals and groups who visit the gardens. Horticultural training and workshops also form a part of the project.
‘The Ashtree Cottage Garden project represents a fantastic opportunity for Holton Lee and the local community who use our site to become involved in the production of fruit and vegetables, meeting new people and developing new skills.’
Matthew Briars, Holton Lee Environment Manager.
