Residencies and Bursaries

£2,000 awarded to two emerging Visual Artists

Wareham based photographer and film maker John Mondino and Swanage based printmaker Nick Ward have been given £1,000 each as winners of the Holton Lee visual arts bursary 2007.

Holton Lee and Dorset County Council working in partnership developed this award to offer two disabled visual artists the opportunity to apply for a £1,000 bursary to develop both a new body of work and their professional artistic practice.  Winners were announced in October 2007.

John Mondino’s aim is to combine the Holton Lee environment with London Landscapes.

Nick Ward will be using the Holton Lee environment as inspiration to create images for a 12 sheet calendar and a set of cards.

The two artists were automatically selected for the 2008 Holton Lee Disability Arts Competitive Exhibition, in Faith House Gallery from the 19th January - 8th March 2008.

Holton Lee would like to thank all applicants for their time in putting together their application, and wish them all the best for their artistic future.
