in the gallery at Faith House, Holton Lee, all welcome.

Attendees will be invited to vote for the Peoples Choice Award which will be announced at 1pm.

Disability Arts Competitive Exhibition at Holton Lee

Contemporary artists across the UK and beyond have been selected to exhibit their work in the Gallery at Faith House, Holton Lee, Dorset.  A wide variety of visual arts will be on show to celebrate the Disability Arts movement.

The second Holton Lee Disability Arts Competitive Exhibition will open at 11.30am on the 19th January and those attending on this day will have the opportunity to vote for the artist of their choice who will receive a prize worth £1,000.  The winner of this and the winner of the ‘Judges Choice’ will be announced at 1pm.  Exhibiting artists will include last years winners Jon Adams and Rachel Gadsden, plus John Mondino and Nick Ward, recipients of last years Holton Lee and Dorset County Council Visual Arts Bursary.  Work on display ranges from visual arts, film, performance, installation and photography producing an exciting and diverse exhibition to suit all tastes.

Tony Heaton, Director of Arts and Environment at Holton Lee said “Once again we have had a strong field of entries, leaving the judges with tough decisions to make but this has ensured we have a high quality and thought provoking show.”

Additional:
Faith House won the Guardian Newspaper ‘Best British Building of 2002’ and was designed by architect Tony Fretton.  Holton Lee is set within 350 acres of natural landscape and works across the four aspects of: Disability and Carers, Arts, Environment and Personal Growth and Spirituality.

The Second Disability Arts Competitive Exhibition at Holton Lee

Contemporary artists across the UK have been selected to exhibit their work in the Gallery at Faith House, Holton Lee, Dorset.  A wide variety of visual arts will be on show that celebrates the Disability Arts movement.

The Second Holton Lee Disability Arts Competitive Exhibition opened on the 19th January and attendees were able to vote for the artist of their choice.  Winner of the ‘Peoples Choice’ was Wareham based artist John Mondino, and Sally Booth and Nick Ward were both highly commended.  The winner of the ‘Judges Choice’ was Devon based artist Susan Austin, and Joolz Cave-Berry and Jon Adams were both highly commended.  The prize giving was by Jim Hunter, Director of Art at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth.   Work on display ranges from visual arts, film, sculpture, installation and photography producing an exciting and diverse exhibition to suit all tastes.
