Elemental Landscapes is showing at Faith House, Holton Lee, Dorset from 20th May – 12th June 2006. The private view is on Saturday 20th May from 11.30 – 13.30.

The exhibition is two visions of the evocative landscape around Holton Lee using colour, movement and spirituality as a focus.

Elemental Landscapes is showing as a participant of Dorset Art Weeks and is entry number 284 in the brochure. Also during this time work by groups at Holton Lee will be exhibited in the creative workspaces around the site. This will then be part of the arts and music festival held on Friday 9th June when Signdance Collective an international touring signdance theatre company (London/Amsterdam) and the Luke Barlow Band (London) headline the evening’s entertainment with their new show ‘But Beautiful’. Also playing are Bournemouth based up and coming band The Viff. For more information on this event please go to www.holtonlee.co.uk or phone 01202 625562 x25.

Abi Kremer is an abstract painter inspired by landscape, music and dance. During last summer and spring this year Abi has spent some time in the artists studios on site at Holton Lee making an innovative series of work. The spirit of this unique landscape has been explored and celebrated using colour and movement as a focus. Paint has been poured, stippled and blended using masking techniques as well as the usual tools. Watercolour workshops will be led by Abi at Holton Lee to enable visitors to participate.

Abi works in Dorset and has exhibited both locally and nationally, with paintings in public art collections. She has been involved in public art projects including Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals and a site specific piece in the Bournemouth Library.

Richard Jeffery is showing recent photography from Holton Lee’s broadleaf woodland.  This is a statement of work in progress, of exploration of new techniques.

Work, where digital, is instinctive - images created within the camera and presented without retouching.  This new approach explores the digital potential, layering sequences of photographs to capture movement over time.

“I am enchanted by the spirit of this place.  Holton Lee’s environment encourages a natural experimentation within a fabulous landscape.  This is a place that beckons, that supports, that brings out new ideas and ways of working.”

Richard is based in Swanage and teaches photography in Bournemouth.  He has run several lottery funded photography projects in the South West, and is working with Holton Lee and a local mental health group to set up a new project to start in the summer of 2006.
