An Exhibition of Paintings by Carmen Watson
PRESS RELEASE An exhibition of paintings inspired by the natural world Former Arts Institute student Carmen Watson holds her Carmen completed an MA in Natural History Illustration and Ecology in 2002 at Royal College of Art and is a graduate of the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Her paintings are inspired by the natural world and she aims to draw peoples attention to the urgent need for its protection. Working directly from life the exhibition at Faith House includes a study of the birds of Alderney along with new work inspired by the natural beauty of the woodland, heathland, reedbeds and harbour around Holton Lee. Whilst establishing herself as a professional artist Carmen works at Holton Lee as a personal carer. She also hopes to run workshops , working with disabled people, to create work relating to the theme of the exhibition and encourage participants to explore and develop painting skills whilst looking at the natural world.
